Liege-Bastogne-Liege 1961
The Emperor of Herentals Rik Van Looy broke clear on the late climbs with teammate Armand Desmet (Faema) and Marcel Rohrbach (Peugeot). Van Looy used his superior sprint to come off Desmet's wheel to easily take the 1961 L-B-L victory.
SPECIAL NOTE: With the L-B-L victory Rik Van Looy became the first rider to have a victory in ALL 5 of Cycling’s Monuments!!! (M-SR 1958, Flan 1959, Lomb 1959, P-R 1961 and L-B-L 1961)
